After Sales Analyst

Summary of Position:

The Aftersales Analyst will support our partners (including dealers and distributors) by responding to parts and accessories inquiries related to Zero motorcycles. You are responsible for incoming aftersales orders – you will verify their accuracy and facilitate entry into our enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. After orders are accepted, you will ensure each is delivered in a timely and high quality manner. Timely delivery will require that you work cooperatively with our materials management and manufacturing teams to schedule work orders. On a weekly basis, you will review order exceptions with the materials team to identify roadblocks to fulfillment.

It is also your responsibility to make sure that all customer-facing systems, websites and other publications have correct parts and accessories information including descriptions, part numbers, pictures and pricing. You will take supersession information from our product life cycle management system and transcribe it into our parts system including updating references on exploded view drawings. On an annual basis, you will help coordinate the creation of parts manuals for new model year introductions.

When partners return products, you will facilitate our return merchandise authorization (RMA) process to ensure returned items meet requirements and are returned to inventory as appropriate. You will segment these returns from warranty items that require further analysis by our quality and service engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide rapid and accurate responses to partners’ parts and accessories questions by telephone, Skype and email
    • Screen inquiries, interpret needs and answer questions
    • Review and enter customer orders – prepare the necessary documentation and provide acknowledgements as requested
    • Communicate on all aspects of transactions, before, during and after the sale, including expediting if needed, until order is completed
  • Coordinate with internal departments to speed order fulfillment
    • Submit work orders to materials team and manufacturing team for kitting or sub assembly requirements
    • Complete a daily review of work orders’ statuses to ensure prompt completion
    • Coordinate international transfer of parts and accessories to our Netherlands subsidiary

Summary of Position:

The Buyer/Planner compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material, goods or services to support manufacturing, engineering and other departments as needed. Plans and prepares material plans to communicate to suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepares purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
  • Submits purchase orders, solicits acknowledgement and promise dates, and ensures delivery of goods to support production.
  • Reviews current production requirements (ongoing) and steers suppliers to meet these needs. Material may need to be pushed, pulled, canceled or new purchase orders placed.
  • Manages purchase orders from beginning to end.

Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 2+ years’ procurement experience.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written are required. Majority of communication will be written via email to suppliers.
  • Procurement experience in the automotive industry preferred.
  • Experience working with off-shore suppliers, primarily China and Taiwan preferred.
  • Prior working knowledge of Intuitive ERP preferred.
  • APICS certification preferred.

Customer Service - Mechanical Engineer

Summary of Position:

Zero Motorcycles is currently seeking a Customer Service - Mechanical Engineer. This position will support partners (including dealers and distributors) by responding to inquiries and technical requests about the mechanical aspects of Zero Motorcycle’s products. You will provide second-tier troubleshooting guidance for mechanical field issues experienced by owner’s motorcycles and work with our partners to ensure each issue is resolved in a timely and high quality manner. This guidance primarily will consist of reviewing pictures, discussing failures with partners and suggesting symptom diagnostic approaches. When necessary, you will escalate issues to the product development or manufacturing operations teams to expedite their resolution.

On a weekly basis, you will analyze mechanical technical issues to identify trends and recommend improvements in tools, training or documentation to eliminate or acceleration the resolution of future problems. This analysis will also be use to deliver a weekly top ten mechanical issues list to be reviewed with the product development team.

Because our motorcycles are electric vehicles, you are expected to achieve a basic proficiency in debugging electrical issues to support those needs as they arise. This position is full time and will be working at our Scotts Valley, California headquarters and report to the Director of Customer Experience and Aftersales.

Key Responsibilities:

Dealer Development and Sales Analyst

Summary of Position:

This position works directly and supports the Director of Sales and in addition, supports the Regional Sales Directors at the direction of the Director of Sales.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Distributor/Dealer Development Support: Responsible for working directly with Director of Sales and the Sales Field Team to develop new dealers / distributors in North, Central and South America; including, but not limited to:
    • Conducts market analysis to determine open points for new dealer acquisitions.
    • Develops, evaluates and manages “New Dealer Inquiries” processes and provides evaluation to Field Staff for conducting interviews.
    • Prepares market assessments; summarizing key dealer information and SWOT analysis with the support of the Sales Field Team.

  • Sales: Responsible for working directly with Director of Sales in supporting the field staff; including, but not limited to:

Required Education/Experience:
  • Paralegal Certification and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Zero Motorcycles is a designer and manufacturer of electric motorcycles for the consumer and fleet markets. Headquartered in Scotts Valley, California, we design and build our product onsite and have been doing so since 2006. We are looking for an individual that has a very deep understanding of embedded electrical systems design. This individual will work within a team of electrical engineers to design cutting edge electric motorcycles and all the systems that make these vehicles perform safely, predictably, and excitingly. This individual will play a key role in defining the motorcycles systems, user interfaces, safety interlocks, and performance characteristics. This position is full time M-F and will be working at our Scotts Valley, California headquarters and will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define high level system architecture for systems on the motorcycle such as battery monitoring system, all sensor inputs, motor controller and high current busses, and gauges/rider interface
  • Design, develop, code, test and debug systems software for bike systems and functional test systems
  • Analyze and enhance efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources
  • Integrate and validate new product designs
  • Interface with hardware design and development
  • Support software QA and optimize I/O performance
  • Conduct peer reviews of designs, features, and marketing/engineering specifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key Engineering support for motor manufacturing process development and codifying into MP’s.

Styled Surface Designer

The primary function of the Styled Surface Designer is to own the implementation, refinement and delivery of Class-A CAD files for ID-Driven content. Secondarily, the Styled Surface Designer will manage departmental CAD tools, skill and workflows. VP Operations

Summary of Position:

As part of the leadership team, the VP Operations will help formulate a rolling three-year strategic plan with measurable milestones. The VP Operation’s primary responsibility is to help execute these strategies through process, metrics, team effectiveness and corporate cadence. The position is based at Zero Motorcycle’s Scotts Valley, California location with moderate international and domestic travel to support strategic supply chain development and supplier meetings.

  • Planning: Drive world-class production and logistic processes that continually improve the quality of the inventory while allowing revenue scalability and customer satisfaction. Improve lead-time and provide clearer companywide production forecasting.
  • Warehousing and Logistics: Drive EBITDA margin increase through optimization of transportation and warehousing expense lines while improving speed to customer and ship accuracy. Create a common, documented process across entire organization.
  • Sales Operations and Customer Experience: Drive improvements to EBITDA and customer engagement by creating high quality customer experience culture while reducing defects before there is customer contact. Decrease occurrences of customer defects and drive down cost to handle defects.
  • Manufacturing: Interface with supplier operation and the production line to drive measureable improvement to quality and delivery through process and optimization. Ensure a strong team and clear communications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Development and oversight of the production schedule in support of the annual sales plan.
  • Work closely with VP Procurement on timing and execution material orders and deliveries in support of production schedule.
  • Drive continuous improvements to create a flexible and efficient production environment.
  • Establishment of an effective and quality-focused operation of battery, motor and motorcycle production.
  • Drive timely fulfillment with high customer satisfaction of Customer Service and Accessory orders.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Engineering to provide leadership for the production planning and execution of new product introductions, working with and integrating the needs of Engineering, Quality and Customer Service.
  • Work with Finance to coordinate activities to fund operations, maximize investments, drive cost savings and increase efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
Required Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in Engineering or Science-related discipline; MS and/or MBA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in operational management positions; must show consistent progression through management positions in career.
  • A demonstrated strong track record of successful new product introductions is required.
  • Proven success in the manufacturing, distribution and support of products in a high growth environment.
  • Track record of driving effective and efficient operational changes through organizations.
  • People, project management and strong leadership experience a must.

As part of the leadership team, the VP Supply Chain will help formulate a rolling three-year strategic plan with measurable milestones for supplier performance and costing. The VP of Sourcing’s primary responsibility is to help communicate and drive these strategies through strategic supplier selection, negotiation, process, metrics, team effectiveness and corporate cadence. The position is based at Zero Motorcycle’s Scotts Valley, California location with moderate international and domestic travel to support strategic supply chain development and supplier meetings.

  • Work with suppliers and internal team to drive improvement to gross margin and quality through Bill of Material pricing, commodity management and vendor measurement and control.
  • Work with Operations and manufacturing to drive measureable improvements to quality and delivery through vendor selection, process improvement and optimization.
  • Identify and select key suppliers to partner with Zero Motorcycles on fast changing and seasonal product line.
  • Drive the establishment of a competitive bidding process to ensure lower part and commodity costs and higher quality across the full supplier base.
  • Lead negotiation with all key suppliers for both the development and production functions as well as other key areas of spend in the business.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ongoing development and maintenance of a strategic supplier relationships in support of annual product production plans.
  • Scheduling and managing the delivery of components and subassemblies to support the production schedule and the annual sales plan.
  • Drive continuous improvements to create a flexible and efficient supplier base.
  • Work with the VP of Operations to drive the assessment of in-sourcing vs. outsourcing conversations related to components and key parts.
  • Work closely with internal teams to provide leadership for the supply-chain and execution of new product introductions, working with and integrating the needs of Operations, Engineering, Quality and Customer Service.
  • Work to continually improve our suppliers in terms of quality, pricing, availability / on-time delivery, lead-times, communication and long-term planning.
  • Lead negotiations with key partners within the supply-chain to improve COG’s, costs and quality and make improvements in the best interest of Zero Motorcycles’ growth.
  • Work with Finance to coordinate activities to fund operations, maximize investments, drive cost savings and increase efficiency.
