Production Artist

Summary of Position:

We are looking for a talented production artist who can work with translated copy to create print collateral and web assets for our international markets. The production artist must be comfortable with heavy detail and have an eye for typography and layouts. Precision is a must, as is a good grasp on InDesign tables. Previous experience with translated materials is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production of translated print collateral, point of purchase displays, and web graphics
  • Batch processing and maintaining filenames and structure for web images
  • Creating company documents and promotional materials as needed
  • General support of sales and marketing efforts however necessary
  • Occasional light photo retouching

Operations Financial Analyst

Summary of Position:

Zero Motorcycles is currently looking for an Operations Financial Analyst. This position is a key player in the Finance group at Zero Motorcycles, a rapidly growing world leader in the design, production and sales of electric motorcycles. This is an outstanding career opportunity to support the accounting department in the area of cost accounting, monthly financial close, inventory analysis, BOM review and recommendations, variance analysis, cycle count procedures, annual physical inventories, and the annual financial planning process. This position is full time and will be working in our Scotts Valley, California headquarters and will report into the Finance organization.

Areas of Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve the company cost accounting system.
  • Maintain and develop needed management reports.
  • Work closely with Operations to develop strong inventory management procedures.
  • Maintain integrity of data in the ERP system as it relates to Inventory and product costs.
  • Make presentations to all levels of management within the company.
  • Lead annual physical inventory, including planning and implementation.
  • Design and lead the inventory cycle count procedure.
  • Develop working knowledge of all activities in the Finance department, including ability to assist coworkers on other accounting activities.
  • Work with outside auditors as needed to provide necessary schedules and supporting details.
  • Maintain and improve warranty reporting.
  • Confirm the accuracy of the bills of material.
  • Prepare and maintain a comprehensive Gross Margin analysis.
  • Conduct variance analysis, leading to actionable insights to improve the company’s operations.
  • Calculate appropriate inventory reserves.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for inventory and other balance sheets accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Minimum qualifications include:
  • B.S. / B.A. Accounting/Finance degree and at least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate understanding of manufacturing in a standard costing system environment.
  • Ability to perform and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Solid computer skills including financial analysis and modeling in Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A positive attitude, team player orientation, ability to build strong relationship with others.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Electrical Engineering – Vehicle Systems Integration

Summary of Position:

Zero Motorcycles is interested in placing an engineer in the Electrical Engineering group responsible for integrating major electrical system componentry. A key task of this position is to design wiring harnesses meeting the rigors of off-highway vehicle use cases under the pressures of commercial pricing structures and component utilization. This position is full time and will be working in our Scotts Valley, California headquarters and will report to the Director of Electrical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with team of designers to design wiring harnesses that physically connect both in-house developed and off-the-shelf devices.
  • Create and maintain electrical system architecture schematics.
  • Engage in relationships across Zero Motorcycles to successfully track and assist in product development deliverables with current suppliers and open doors of new suppliers offering step-function value growth to the company.
Required Education/Experience:
  • Combination of:
    • Bachelor’s in related Engineering field, i.e. Electrical, Aerospace, Mechatronics
    • 5 yrs Transportation Industry experience including product development, release to production, and retrofit support
  • Electric Power conversion techniques.
  • EV/HEV architecture knowledge and bias due to critical thinking and experimentation.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Hands-on wiring harness assembly knowledge and technique including in-line termination styles, branch layup, connector component terminology, fixing elements, materials selection, SI methods, conductor and fuse sizing, and life expectancy protection.
  • Working knowledge of software-based wiring harness design tools and corresponding output design specification package contents.
  • 3D MCAD navigation, SolidWorks preferred.
  • Design and lifecycle process tool awareness, utilization, and track record of engagement in improvement activities.
  • Perform detailed design peer reviews including assist in program content shaping as vehicle developments change scope in the product development lifecycle.
  • Create Documentation of Value including wiring harness build-to-print designs, Test Procedures, Intended Installation Instructions, Development reports, Summaries of Tradeshow Attendance, Knowledgebase articles and distilled Industry Standard guidelines.
  • Transparent time management and task prioritization habits.
  • Exhibit exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Other Requirements (if applicable):
  • Licensed motorcycle rider a plus.

Styled Surface Designer

Summary of Position:

Zero Motorcycles is currently seeking a Styled Surface Designer. The primary function of the Styled Surface Designer is to own the implementation, refinement and delivery of Class-A CAD files for ID-Driven content. Secondarily, the Styled Surface Designer will provide general design support to the Industrial Design department. This position is full time and will be working in our Scotts Valley, California headquarters and will report to the Director of Industrial Design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serves as the primary translator of sketches and reference files into Class-A surface CAD for design visualization and industrialization.
  • Collaborates with the Design Engineers to ensure that ID deliverables satisfy all project requirements including, but not limited to: industrial process requirements, neighboring system clearances, fastening features, and FEA/CFD analysis.
  • Provides general support to the Industrial Design department as needed, including research, documentation, visualization, and ideation.
  • Supports the Director of Industrial Design in a perpetual quest for improvement of the product and the quality of deliverables.
  • Maintains ID departmental CAD competence and efficiency by keeping current on tools and skill.
Required Education/Experience:
  • B.S. in Industrial Design or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of consumer product design experience
  • 3+ years of styled surface development
  • Strong Alias experience
  • Familiarity with a parametric CAD system
  • Mechanical interest/aptitude
Skills and Attributes:
  • Direct experience in vehicle design- especially power sports
  • Solidworks experience
  • Skill in Photoshop/Illustrator
  • Skill in digital rendering; i.e. Keyshot
  • Interest/participation in the motorcycle world
