Zero Motorcycles is currently hiring for the following positions:
We are searching for a VP of Marketing for our fast-growing, innovative, Santa Cruz, California-based electric motorcycle company. The VP of Marketing reports to the company CEO and is responsible for the development, implementation and management of corporate, brand, Web and product marketing strategies and activities that support the company’s top-line growth.

Opportunity
To establish a premier American motorcycle brand. We have key technology that allows us to make ecologically sound electric motorcycles that are incredibly powerful. This is a rare opportunity to use revolutionary technology to launch a disruptive brand in a sector dominated by legacy motorcycle companies. Working closely with the executive team, the VP of Marketing will drive strategies, initiatives, objectives, and processes in an effort to deliver strong sales through new and disruptive distribution channels.

Strategic Approach
Taking a page out of the “anti-brand” viral marketing book and putting it together with the “super-brand” quality look of a Ducati or BMW, we want to establish a new American motorcycle company brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Take a leadership role in understanding trends and customer/prospect needs
• The development of marketing strategies and initiatives to address these customer needs
• The development of marketing messaging to be used on the Web and in promotional material
• The development and implementation of the Web presence and the other materials which communicate this messaging.
• Management of relationships with advertising, web, graphic and photographic professionals and agencies to ensure a consistent brand image/brand message, and highly efficient and cost effective delivery of work.
• The development and management of marketing budgets.

Qualifications

• Motorcycle “DNA” from professional or personal experience with motorcycles
• Experienced with using PR
• Budgeting skills using multiple contractors
• Adaptive and inventive (probably had their own company at one point)
• Knows how to make classy high end campaigns
• Consumer products marketing experience, Web marketing experience,
• Experience as a senior manager on a team that has built a well-known, lifestyle consumer Product Company.
• Able to lead in a small team environment composed of three marketing team members and scale it to 10-15 over a few years using strong leadership and team building skills.
• Developed and executed an integrated international marketing program that incorporated advertising, public relations, Web and event marketing.
• Clear and effective communicator, able to articulate views and vision crisply, both internal and external.

2 Positions open for Mechanical Engineers (junior level is entry level, fresh out of school)

Zero Motorcycles Inc is looking for FT, degreed mechanical engineers with Solidworks, CAD and bicycle/motorcycle design experience to join our electric motorcycle design team. We are a high tech startup and are looking for eligible engineers to add to our engineering team.

Senior Mechanical Engineer
Minimum 10 years hands-on directly related engineering experience, BSME or MSME (preferred) or equivalent degree (i.e. aeronautical engineering). Must be able to work independently on assigned R&D projects and must be able to work as a team as needed and oversee the work of junior level engineers as required. Experience in the motorcycle and bicycle industry REQUIRED!!! Suitable substitutes for industry experience include ATV or American Motorcycle Companies. Salary range DOE, equity rich compensation plan.

Mechanical Engineer
Zero Motorcycles Inc is looking for a FT, degreed junior level mechanical engineer with Solidworks, CAD and bicycle/motorcycle design experience to join our electric motorcycle design team. Eligible candidate must be competent and capable of working in Solidworks.

Zero Motorcycles Inc manufactures high performance electric motorcycles. We are seeking a FT, electrical engineer with strong analog design skills to join our manufacturing and product development teams. The eligible candidate must have at least 5 years of related industry experience. This position will involve working on electric motorcycle systems, including motor controller, wiring system, battery, electric motor, safety systems and performance systems. The desired individual must be a self starter and team player capable of working with a minimum level of supervision.

Must be experienced with analog design, schematic design and entry, schematic tools, circuit simulation, commuter programming, project management and critical thinking.

Experience with electrical vehicles, motor controllers, automotive systems and/or battery technology a plus.
