Zero S voted European eMotorbike of the Year 2012

For the second consecutive year the Zero S has been named as “European eMotorbike of the Year 2012” at Europe’s Clean Week 2020 elections hosted at the Zolder circuit in Belgium. The event, aimed at providing an annual review of future-fuelled, environmentally friendly vehicles, brings together a diverse mix from the motoring and motorcycle industry, energy, technology, public and private sectors, to provide an independent analysis of alternative powered transportation technologies available today.

The 2012 Zero S ZF9, which won the “road” section of the week-long event, is the first production electric motorcycle capable of exceeding 100 miles of range on a single charge. Its top speed of 88mph, broad torque band and stealthy acceleration, together with a brushless motor and regenerative braking allows riders to recoup energy during deceleration, makes it best in class, an opinion shared by the panel of 12 specialist European journalists who tested extensively all the vehicles presented at Clean Week 2020. The Zero DS, which is also capable of exceeding 100 miles of range on a single charge, took second place.
