The entire range of Zero Motorcycles will be on display from the urban Zero S, dual sport Zero DS, athletic off road Zero MX, and the lightweight trail riding Zero X.
Stuart Pringle, Club Secretary at the BRDC commented. “We are delighted to welcome Zero Motorcycles to Silverstone for the BSB weekend. High performance bikes attract special interest, so having their electric counterparts on display will certainly provide an interesting alternative for our members as electric transportation becomes an ever closer reality for work and leisure travel alike.” In stark contrast to the 1000cc petrol driven Superbikes that will be flying around Silverstone at speeds reaching almost 200mph on a track new to most riders, Zero Motorcycles emit zero emissions at point of use, and are almost silent in comparison. However, in terms of performance and handling, they are certainly World Class. Zero Motorcycles electric motor gives 100% torque at all times, providing instantaneous throttle response and incredible off-the-line performance. Conversely they are fully recyclable including their revolutionary lithium-ion technology that is completely non-toxic. Champions themselves Zero Motorcycles were winners at the first race in the American TTXGP series, also in the Federation Francais de Motocyclisme - first official French electric off-road motorcycle event, and successfully completed the arduous Erzberg Rodeo in 2010, Following record sales in the US, Zero Motorcycles are now expanding fast in the European Market with distributors in over 10 countries Europe wide. He commented, “Zero Motorcycles provides a step change for the motorcycling industry. Being able to enjoy a passion, whether it’s purely as a means of transport for daily commuting, or as an extreme sport such as Motocross, without the environmental impacts of carbon and noise pollution is essential if motorcycles are to keep pace with the world drive for cleaner technology.”
