24 Hours of Electricross

About the Event
Zero Motorcycles set a world record by completing the first electric off road 24-hour endurance event.

Staged in the heart of San Jose at an off road motorcycle park, the Zero Motorcycles’ 24 Hours of Electricross was the world's first all-electric endurance off road event.

Event Quotes - Scroll Down on Right Side:
“This event pulled together an incredibly diverse group of people from around the world. Everyone from lifelong motorcyclists to environmentally-conscience trend setters fielded teams. Some traveled thousands of miles at their own expense for this opportunity to make motorcycle history,”
- Neal Saiki, inventor and founder, Zero Motorcycles.
“The race was a lot of fun and a great learning experience. Thanks so much for the shirt and we look forward to another Zero Electricross next year”
- David Haugen Fox Racing Shox Team
"Prior to the race I had only logged one hour ride time on the bike. I was pleasantly surprised with the Zero's durability. After 24 hours and 500 miles of all out racing, we had only minor issues. The only maintenance I needed to do after 24 hours was wash the bike, that's incredible!"
- Dave Wood
Well I say we totally accomplished the goal and the ZERO performed perfectly. In fact I cannot still get over the lack off maintenance, broken parts, worn brakes etc that we did not encounter and the the bike completely did not need. I have seen, ridden, raced full blown race bikes that are prepped for BAJA, ISDE, ENDURO's etc that could not make the distance, yes conditions were much more controlled but I am a true supporter of the ZERO and electric motorcycles.

If you need any marketing testimonies, interviews or whatever I will give a double thumbs up on the ZERO! Again thank you for putting on an epic event and allowing a bunch of knuckleheads to try to destroy your product!

MCMA Race director, life member
'The 24 hour Electric Motorcross was a great event. I thought the track and location was excellent with the time of year for the weather just right. It was one of the most mentally and physically demanding days of my life, yet at the same time, very rewarding to be part of Electric vehicle history'
- Scott Snaith Chairman 50cycles.com
I'll never forget this." It was friendly, fun, exciting, long, interesting, tiring, challenging, and surreal.

It was truly an honor to be part of the event and to be around such talented, competent and enjoyable people, dedicated to performance, progress, fun and sensical efficiciency in two wheeled sports and transportation.

The event and all the people at it showed inspiration, vision, positive action and real results. The bikes showed grace and power, albino two wheeled cheetahs of the ground and air. Riders kept each other on course with aggressive but friendly competition.

- Gillis Lang
I Want to thank you again for the 24 hour race. I've been riding and racing for over 35 years and the Zero race was one of the best ones I have been to. Zero Company and it's bikes are a first class operation. If the MCMA or I can help you in any way, please let me know.
Thank You,

Quotes
“I am very pleased to see so many teams participating in this event. Development of durable, dependable electric vehicles will be of great help in addressing many concerns currently facing the continued provision of Off-Highway Vehicle recreation opportunities on public lands. The availability of quiet off-highway vehicles could open up many new opportunities not previously considered. Regardless of who wins the race, merely holding this event is a win for the entire community.”
- Daphne Greene, Deputy Director of the California State Parks OHV Division

“The BlueRibbon Coalition is proud to be a sponsor of Electricross. BRC believes that Zero emission OHVs will become an important factor in the land-use equation and will help our efforts to champion responsible recreational trail use on public and private lands. Zero Motorcycles should be commended for making a product that has serious off-road capabilities, protects the environment, and is fun to ride. I believe Zero emission OHVs will not only help keep existing trails open, but actually enable local governments and land agencies to designate certain sensitive land classifications, in the urban/rural interface, as open for electric off-road vehicle use. “
